Reaching Out

In light of our vision, and God's call for us to be His “sent ones” (John 20:21), we are actively seeking ways of sharing God's love to our community. Here are some ways you can be involved in these efforts. Check the calendar regularly to stay up to date on these activities.

Home Groups
The primary way we reach our community is through our Home Groups. This provides a natural way for us to share our lives and the love of God with our friends and neighbors.

Raag
“Raag” is the Hindi word for melody. Every month, as long as the weather permits, we go to Thomas Jefferson Park in Irving to play music and sing songs with our neighbors in the community.

Camden Apartment Outreach
Our friends, Steven and Elizabeth Martin, are a CARES Team at the Camden Apartments. From time to time we help them with the activities they have to reach out to the residents of that apartment community.

Nursing Home Outreach
Periodically we conduct worship services and go share the love of Christ with our elderly friends at an assisted living facility.

How some from within are reaching out

• Wes Cohoon has decided to reach out to his neighbors, recognizing that we are all broken people, and has started a new church plant called Broken Church.
• Brandon B. is heavily involved in developing resources in order to train pastors and leaders throughout the world. The organization he started for this purpose is iAlethia.
• Others like Abel Joseph and Stephen Thomas have gone on mission trips to share God's love with others around the world.

How you can reach out

• Be involved in a Home Group.
• Participate in one of the church's other outreach activities like Raag and Apartment outreach.
• Go on a mission trip. One of our staff members can assist you in getting started with this.
• Most importantly, live life on mission with God as one sent by Him to our community. We do this by sharing God's love with those in our normal sphere of life – our family, friends, co-workers, classmates, neighbors, etc.
